This is a fun-but-serious site for everyone, but especially for professionals, students, and those learning English as a second language. It’s in honor of my mother, Mary Kay DuPré, who was a gentle “grammar Nazi” before it became fashionable, and was so good at what she did that my children slid right from calling her Grandma to calling her Grammar. She left us in 1992. This one’s for you, Mom.
It’s been a crazy year, in many ways. In terms of communication, speaking and writing clearly have never been more important.
As a professor for decades, and as a writer who notices such things, I have seen a group of mistakes that are, unfortunately, becoming more and more common. I’d love to slow that down, and if possible, even reverse that trend!
The goal of this site is not to turn you into a grammar nerd, and certainly not a grammar snob. It’s to have fun clearing things up, and to give you the tools to be the best communicator you can be.
